30. The House on Mango Street

The House on Mango Street is the October selection for the GB Book Club and you can read my intro right over here. I have to say, I was surprised at how weighty and meaningful this small tome turned out to be and I loved Ciseneros's writing so much that I went out and bought the more lengthy Caramelo a few days after I'd finished. It's a short, refreshing read and so worth it.
